Books I Read Because of the Cover

Books I Read Because of the Cover Everyone always says to never judge a book by its cover. But to be honest, I have fallen guilty to picking a book because of how pretty the cover art is. Here are some of my favorite books that I picked because of the cover! All the Light We Cannot See - Anthony Doerr I was walking around a library, specifically in the historical fiction section, searching for a new book to read. One of the books on display caught my attention. The soft but dark blue gradient of the clouds leading to the beautiful European town in contrast to the bolded white title caught my attention. The book takes place around the time of World War II in German-occupied France. The first part of the book tells the heartbreaking struggles and losses of Marie-Laure and Werner. Call of The Wild by Jack London

Call of The Wild Call of The Wild is a realistic fiction book set in the Yukon during the Klondike gold rush. The book is about a dog named Buck who soon becomes a sled dog. Although the book is in third person London does a good job of giving enough information to usually tell the character’s motives. It's a unique book as not many books are about a sled dog during the Klondike gold rush. The book starts with the main character, Buck, who is a dog that lives in California. This is seen throughout the book as he progressively gets fierce and less domesticated becoming more like a wolf. This transformation is first seen after Buck gets stolen. After Buck gets stolen he is put in a crate shipped to Seattle where a somewhat well-known scene happens. Buck is taught “the law of club and fang” when he tries ...

by evie  Summary (mystery spoilers)             The House With a Clock in It's Walls is a book about (surprise) a house with a clock in it's walls. The main character is a boy named Lewis, who lost his parents in a car crash and has to go live with his Uncle Jonathan. Once he gets to his uncle's house, he meets Mrs. Zimmermann/Florence, an old lady who is friends with Jonathan. After staying there for a few nights, Lewis starts to notice some weird things going on. The furniture moves on its own, the mirrors and paintings change, etc. He finds out that  magic is real and that his uncle and Florence are wizards. Also, his uncle wanders around at night banging on the walls. Weird.  Fast forward a bit, we learn that the house was originally  owned by an evil wizard guy and his witch wife who really want to end the world with a clock (the clock in the walls). Their forbidden book of very evil spells is locked in a forbidden cabine...
